Overview
This section provides guidance on diagnosing and resolving issues encountered during Kyvos deployment on Google Cloud Platform by reviewing relevant logs and system messages.
Note
In case of any failures in the Cloud-init service on any of the Kyvos instances, you can view the Cloud-init logs directly from the GCP Cloud Logging user interface.
To view the Cloud-init logs on Cloud Logging Explorer from the GCP portal, perform the following steps:
Go to Compute Engine > VM Instances.
Click the instance for which you want to view logs.
Click Cloud Logging under the Logs section.
The system log named syslog will be available in Cloud Logging Explorer. This file contains all global system messages, including those logged during system startup. It also includes mail, cron, daemon, kern, auth, and other log messages.
GCP scripts metadata logging should also be available using the steps above, under the name GCEMetadataScripts in Cloud Logging Explorer. This file logs the execution of all metadata scripts (including the Kyvos startup/bootstrap script) on Google Compute Engine instances.
