Kyvos defines Calculations as measures created within the Kyvos semantic model, optimized at the semantic model level. Unlike Tableau calculations, which compute during visualization rendering, Kyvos calculations offer faster query performance. When using Tableau with Kyvos, prioritizing Kyvos-defined calculations ensures you're utilizing the full power of the semantic layer rather than duplicating computational work in Tableau.

To use defined calculations, perform the following steps.

1. Create a calculated measure, Profit Ratio, in the semantic model instead of creating a calculated field in Tableau. You can create a calculated measure in the semantic model using an MDX expression, so the syntax might differ if you compare the expression created in Tableau.
