Kyvos allows you to export information from a dashboard in a variety of formats. Use this feature to create a snapshot of your data for the current moment.

You can export:

Exported information can optionally include the title, card, and filter information. Card and filter information are displayed on subsequent pages.

To email a dashboard, see Sharing an object.

Exporting Dashboard to PowerPoint (PPT)

  1. From the Toolbox, choose Workbooks and select a workbook.

  2. Create or select an existing dashboard.

  3. From the Options menu at the top right, choose Export.

  4. From the File Format, choose the PPT option.

  5. Select the Include Dashboard Title, Include Card Title, Include Card Information, Export Cards with Maximizes State, and Export in Multiple pages checkboxes if you want these included in the PDF.

    1. Include Dashboard Title: When enabled, the exported PPT will include an introductory slide containing key dashboard information. Additionally, the dashboard name will be used as the slide title for any full-view dashboard snapshots included in the presentation.

    2. Include Card Title: When enabled, each slide containing a card snapshot will display the card title at the top, providing clear context for the viewer.

    3. Include Card Information: When enabled, the system will add a separate slide immediately after each card snapshot slide that contains detailed information about the card (for example, description and metadata).

    4. Export Cards in Maximized State: When enabled, each selected card will be automatically opened in its maximized state before the snapshot is captured. This ensures that the exported slide includes the most detailed and expanded view of the card.

    5. Include Dashboard Full View: When enabled, the export will include a slide with a full-view snapshot of the entire dashboard, providing a comprehensive overview of the dashboard layout and all its components in a single slide.

    6. Export with Multiple Combinations: When enabled, the system will automatically apply all relevant dynamic filter combinations and generate a separate export for each unique combination. For each combination, a dedicated section will be created in the PowerPoint file that includes:

      • A slide containing the dashboard snapshot for the specific filter combination

      • Slides for all widgets associated with that filtered dashboard view

This allows users to compare multiple filtered perspectives of the dashboard within a single consolidated presentation.

    7. Slide Content Handling: The full-view dashboard and individual cards are captured as images in the PowerPoint slides. Card information (such as description and metadata) is included as text. For URL-based cards, the corresponding hyperlink is embedded directly into the slide.

  6. Click Export.

Adding page breaks for Dashboard

The page break feature allows for the export of multiple pages. It provides options to customize page breaks according to your needs. With this feature, you can set the height for automatically generated page breaks to ensure uniformity. Page breaks are inserted at specified intervals automatically, with a default height of 1000 pixels. The size of the page break, in pixels, can be adjusted when setting breakpoints.

Additionally, at the time of export, you can include page breaks for PDF, or when you share an email. You can also save the page break value that you have set.

  1. Page breaks will not be available in the mobile view.

  2. Dashboards with breakpoints can be exported as PDFs and attached as PDFs in an email.

  3. Multiple-page export is only applicable for PDFs.

To add a page break, perform the following steps.

  1. From the Toolbox, choose Workbooks and select a workbook.

  2. Create or select an existing dashboard.

  3. In the Properties pane, select the Page Break for Dashboard option.

    1. None: Use this option when no page breaks are applied.

    2. Auto: Use this option when page breaks are applied at constant intervals (min 100px). You can also adjust the height of the page breaks by using the Height list.

    3. Custom: Use this option to add page breaks manually. You can hover over the page and drop the indicator to set the page break.

    4. Click the header, footer & page breaks on dashboard canvas checkbox for controlling and managing page breaks and header and footer.

You can add a header or footer when exporting multiple pages. This feature provides options to customize the header or footer according to your needs. To add a header or footer to the dashboard, select 'Header,' 'Footer,' or 'Both.' You can also configure the height of the header or footer.

Note

  • The minimum applicable value is 50px.

  • Using the Show header, footer & page breaks on dashboard checkbox, you can control the visibility of the header, footer, and page break configurations on the dashboard. If you clear the checkbox, any previously applied configurations remain active; it simply hides the interface that displays these settings on the dashboard.

  • To export in multiple pages with header and footer, enable the Export in multiple pages checkbox.

  • Configuration for the header, footer, and page breaks must be applied, meaning page breaks should not be set to None, and valid page breaks must be present on the dashboard. Additionally, exporting in multiple pages is only applicable for PDFs; this option will not be available when the file format is set to Image or CSV.

Export all groups within a group widget of a dashboard

You can export all groups within a group widget as a separate dashboard within a single PDF.

  • All groups within a Group Widget are now visible in the Export dialog box.

  • If all widgets within a group are deselected, no separate dashboard will be exported for that group.

  • The Export in multiple pages option is disabled if groups other than the active group are selected for export.

Supported Export Formats:

  • PDF Export: A separate dashboard is generated for each group (as the active group). All dashboards are combined into a single PDF, with each placed on a separate page.

  • Image Export: A separate dashboard is generated for each group (as the active group). Each dashboard is exported as an individual image, and all images are packaged together in a ZIP file.

Available Filter Types

  1. Dimension Filters: The following types of dimension filters are supported for creating multiple filter combinations:

    • All multi-select dimension filters, such as those with criteria “is in the list” or “is not in the list”.

    • All single-select dimension filters with dimension data types such as CHAR or DATE, e.g., filters with criteria “is” or “is not”.

    • All date-type dimension filters with criteria “is before”, “is after”, “is before or equal to”, or “is after or equal to”.

    • All dimension filters where the actual filter value is explicitly defined, not derived from a condition, field, or parameter.

  2. Parameter Filters: The following parameter filters are supported for creating multiple filter combinations:

    • All parameter filters with parameter type Dimension or Measure.

    • All CUSTOM parameter filters that are single-select or multi-select.

  3. Runtime Filters: Ad hoc filters added at runtime are also available for creating filter combinations. However, these combinations are not saved as part of the dashboard and therefore cannot be used for email scheduling.
